JD’s primary charge is ensuring quality, both in terms of the Norbauer client experience and the actual code that we write. This also means he’s the guy who makes sure that the lights stay on and that our developers have what they need to do their jobs well. He occasionally consults directly on specialized Ruby on Rails issues.

JD is an entrepreneur with a strong business acumen and a background in software engineering. He has a decade of experience in web development and has founded two successful web software service firms in the past 7 years. He moved to Rails in 2005 and has been working with it exclusively since. He specializes in high-traffic Rails sites, having engineered high-profile online communities that serve up millions of page-views a day.

Tom Piekos Vice President

Tom leads our American team and serves as project manager, software engineer, and head of human resources. Together with JD, they comprise a unified leadership team, assuring that the company continues to operate in the absence of either individual. A Ruby on Rails developer with years of experience, Tom specializes in social networking and e-commerce.
